Mail across a network

I have a network going through a 5 port hub and am wondering how I would go about setting up a mail service between computers. I am currently using Winpopup but this is very basic and message length is limited.

Is there a way to use Outlook or MS Exchange?

Man that's a good one. I don't know if you can do it with Outlook, but I know you can with Exchange. I've seen a couple of home networks using Exchange as a postoffice. However, I have no idea how to tell you to set it up. However, when you're setting up Exchange, it asks you questions about a computer to be set up as a post office, and it probably walks you through it, so I don't think it's that hard, I've just never done it.
