What is average transfer rate of 100Mbit network betweem Windows NT 4 server and Windows 98 on Pentium 200 to Pentium II 450?

My network gets about 25 seconds to copy 100M file from NT 4 to Windows 98. I managed to get up to 15 seconds a while back but I don't know what I did to get that speed. Now, my network is again 25 seconds on 100M file.

Hard drive speed can make a difference, sometimes.

I get about 3.5 MegaBytes per sec. average file transfer rate using netbui win 9x peer to peer , linksys 100 hub and nic's, the machines have deskstars and PII's.

I've got a P233/128mb NT server with Fast Wide SCSI-3 drives (not raid). I can occasionally peak over 14mb/sec 9-11mb sustained from my Celeron 450 with a deskstar drive. Maybe it's the NIC's I've chosen (Intel Pro 100B's)? I usually get faster transfers from my server than I do copying to a local drive. Might look into driver updates.
