I got a quick question. Is it possible to use the coax and the RJ45 connections simultaneously with a combo card?

Eccentric February 23rd, 1999, 11:30 AM Nope, one or the other, because you can only configure it to use 1 address. At least with most combo cards. Ludwig March 5th, 1999, 07:55 AM I got questions: Using the UTP (RJ45) port on the combo card, can I connect two PCs through this port using a twisted-pair cable? Or do I still need a hub in order to use the UTP ports? I know the BNC (for coax) port can be used to connect two PCs (w/ termination). Is this also possible to use with the UTP ports? Thank you. crackerboy March 5th, 1999, 12:22 PM Ludwig, You CAN connect two computers back to back using a UTP (RJ45) cross-over cable. Any more than two computers and you will need a hub. You can buy a cross-over cable or make it yourself. For information on how to make one read around this message board or read the Networking articles posted on the main menu of this webpage. The length is about 45 meters, will this cable work? There are prebuilt cable around stores here but are limited to around 3 meters max. Please provide me a simple diagram (if possible). My email is ludwig@yokogawa.com.ph Thanks again! hardwarecentral.com
