I have hooked up several laptops to DSL. You either need an eithernet port or an eithernet card. You can even get a USB to eithernet adaptor. I don't know why they say it won't work.

I've had the same comment from my xDSL carrier but it's when I want to support home based ADSL on a laptop and on the same laptop configure AOL via PC card.

Why are you using AOL??? "It's so easy to use, no wonder it's number one." Rippoff and slow is what I say.

You could also get an external USB DSL modem. I know bell atlantic was offering them when i signed up for DLS.

Whatever you do, stay away from ameritech. Their service sucks, their lines are always down, and they lock you in for a year! STAY AWAY!!!!

you shouldnt have a prob. i'd go with one of those usb to ethernet connectors, too. easy to use and usually less expensive than pc cards. check out the one from netgear.
