hi liltan :)

which version of windows are you using and which version of wmp? also, which sound card do you have and do you have the latest drivers installed?

i have observed that wmp doesn't always play back sound in .avi files. you might want to try a program such as divx which has better codecs for avi playback.

hope that helps :)

Installing the later versions of Windows Media Player (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/) will also install the codecs required to playback Windows Media files. Versions 7.1 or above should suffice.

Alternatively, you could try downloading the Nimo Codec Pack (http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html) which contains an assortment of the most commonly used codecs, including the Microsoft ones.

You could also check out the Tsunami filter pack.
