Averatec Notebook - Any good? My sister bought one

My sister and her son went out to buy a laptop but they didn't do any research. It turns out she bought this laptop for $900. Or is it a notebook?

I never heard of this brand before so I was kind of mad that she didn't do more research and check around for a better brand. The price is right but the brand? I fooled around with it and it works well. My sister's a realitor and she uses her PC alot and she needed a new one. Her old PC was from '98. One of those Toshiba's with a Pentium 233.

It is extremely light, 4.1 pounds.

Small screen, 12.1".

Minimal software bundle.

Still, it will be a major improvement over what she is using. Besides, the software from her Toshiba can be loaded on it. I feel sure they provided the software CD's in 98 with the laptop.

I am in a similar situation. I have a Gateway mmx200 I want to replace. Perhaps this fall :rolleyes:
