Without the new CCC 26.0Mb (http://www2.ati.com/drivers/wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-051-040825a-017633c.exe)

I think I will try it with the CCC this time. They have accelerated their driver releases quite a bit this year. They made it to 3.10 last year, but this year they might make it to 4.11 or 4.12 this year. Got a good download speed (232k/s).

Well its done so lets test it out.

Seems OK. One thing I did not like is when you set "clone" mode on, it goes no higher than 1024x768. This sucks... but when I backed out and used the regular display properties I could still increase the resolutions to where I want them. It also tended to default to very low resolutions and color and every time I changed anything it asked if it was OK. Overall I would say it has pottential and is really no worse than the current menu system, but has some cool features that might really be nice for some.

Oh and the performance seems to be about the same in Doom3, but it did fix a glitch the last drivers added with anistropic filtering on the floors. It also seems to be brighter now. I wonder if they adjusted the gamma for Doom3 in the drivers.

Is that with the CCC installed? If so, try going back to the standard control panel.

One good bit of news... It looks like they fixed the Call of Duty single player bug... again. Ran fine through a few of the "trouble" spots.

Been fixed for a while for me: since 4.4 or 4.5, IIRC.

After reading the link posted by venom650_19, the CCC looks a bit bloated.

It uses a large skinning system which obviously uses up resources, requires Macromedia Flash Player and the .NET framework.

Ah well, time I stopped being so grumpy and gave it a try :)

They fix it all the time (I think at least 3 drivers fixed it so far), but they don't seem to keep it fixed. I do not play single player that often, but I think at least the last 2 were broken again.

Woohoo I can finally run call of duty singleplayer again! I am so happy.
