Seeing as there's a trend of these "What... do you own?" threads, I thought I'd make my own ;)

I've currently got a Sony Ericsson K700i (http://www.sonyericsson.com/K700/index.aspx)

Nice, that's quite an upgrade by the looks of things. Both Nick and I have 1GB memory cards in ours incidentally, so that reported limitation is probably not absolute.

I have made an adapter for mine out of the supplied headset that lets me use decent headphones (Senn MX400s).

http://img120.exs.cx/img120/2282/Picture599.jpg

Audio quality is suprisingly good but the software is awful! Especially compared to the Series 60 phones. Maybe Nokia have improved their MMAPI/J2ME in the 6230i (would be suprised if that's the case though). It'd be nice if they upgraded the USB controller to 2.0 as well.

How good are the Pictures from those Camera Phones?

I think even the better ones use plastic lenses

mine is limited to 640x480 and isnt good for anything other then phone screen

6230 has 1.3M as far as I know and some pics Ive seen are OK, but really every half decent 100$ camera will beat that.

On the other hand if you got the phone with the contract and you choose something like Nokia 60 series, you are basically getting free camera, so why complain :)

It's definitely a luxury many people can afford live without IMHO. However it's nice to have one in case of emergencies.

In a brightly lit hospital at least. Gets a bit rubbish in low light (no flash, of course). Some of the newer phones are a lot better but still only approach the quality of very cheap, dedicated digital cameras.

Yeah I understand that, if they shot at high res they would be so expensive nobody would buy them.

I had to set up a 650 for a customer last week. The stupid ****** actually set up his wireless using Rogers, when his office ISP is Sympatico (very unfriendly competitors), and he wants me to get the email working. Took me 4 tries before I got a tech at one of their support lines that didn't suddenly have phone trouble.

A few weeks ago I got myself a Siemens CX65. I quite like it because it has about the largest screen you can find on a phone (lol :D ) and the operating system is much like Windows in that you can create folders and fill them with whatever, and view your drive space etc. Plus I can write apps for it in Java ;)

oh and before this one, I had a Nokia 3210 that was about 4 years old. I like to make things last!!

Ah that's a good point, but actually it wasn't a hospital it was a walk-in clinic. My mistake. There were no wards, dialysis/HL machines etc.

My sis has a D500. Very nice - shame you can't upgrade the memory. It's a little bulky IMHO too.

Actually, it's apparently OK to have your phone on in a hospital. My girlfriend is a student nurse and when she's on a placement in a ward, she's always on the phone to me. Just not within 6 feet of any critical machinery IIRC... *shrug*

There's a specific band reserved for special phones for hospital use.

Here (my wife is a nurse at the local hospital) they dropped the whole cell phone restriction over a year ago. I don't know what changed, but they don't make you use special phones.

I've got an LG VX3200 through Verizon. Other than having no games and no download capabilities to get games, it's been a great phone.
