I posted a message yesterday because i cant get windows to recognize that i have installed an internal modem. I tried turning off COM2 in the BIOS but when i install the modem to COM2 windows still does not detect it. I tried installing it to COM4 and the same result. COM4 uses the same IRQ as COM2, if that means anything.
Its a jumpered modem and all the pins were correct. I also tried putting jumpers on every pin. This was supposed to make it plug and play, but windows still does not recognize or detect it when i go into control panel->modem->more info. I'm out of ideas. I've already sent back the modem for a new one. PLEASE HELP!!

Have you un-installed the external modem? If not, you might have 2 modem drivers in control panel.
Also, look at the settings of the com port.
