--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
System:-
Jet 542 mainboard (ALi chipset)
Cyrix 166 CPU
Paradise video card (ever heard of that?)
Serial mouse
Starting off with a clean hard drive, I try and install windows 95 or 98.
When the setup screen appears, there is no mouse pointer.
If I carry on anyway, then eventually it comes up with an message saying there is an error in one of the .CAB files. (There isn't though, 'cos I've used them on another machine)
If I install DOS, then even if I install a mouse driver, Windows3.1 also won't detect it.
The mouse is just a normal one although I have tried another one with the same results.
I've tried connecting the mouse to both com ports. No success!
Has anyone got any ideas?
