i got it running with a new IBM HDD, but i can't boot from it...how do you do that? im selling my HDD to a friend because i only wanted one HDD...help please
win 98 recognizes it fine, the speed is blistering (so says SiSoftSandra)
promise 100 pci controller
IBM 15G ata100
ABIT BE6-2
etc...

You have to change it to "Boot from SCSI/ata 100 device" in the bios because its not a primary IDE device. You know the boot sequence is usually A,C,CDROM ? Well the boot sequence must now be A,SCSI/ATA100 device,CDROM or like, it wont boot eh ? http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/smile.gif

I found out the hard way! http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/smile.gif Also make sure the driver for the ATA-100 device is installed in device manager !!!
