Alas, Alas..HP support is a broken record. Despite having Installed and reinstalled my scanner software for this OS, when I am in my user account I get error 2099 "Several settings have been set to default" and 2141 ( not even listed on hp site) Please reinstall software) If I am in Admin account the scanner works.....what in hell is going on? Is there a reg hack or such so I can use scanner under non-admin account?

Figured out how to beat the problem, but by no means is it an approach for an actual business environmet http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/frown.gif. I set my user acxcount to admin temporarily, removed the software then reinstalled. I then looged on with my user account name ( with temp admin priviledges) and installed scanner. I changed user account back to power user using actual admin account. I still get the s099 and 2141 error msgs in original admin account, but I now can use scanner under user account, which was intended result. There has to be an easier fix than my 'hack 'n chop" approach though http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/frown.gif
