I got a new 1.2 gig harddrive and I can only access 500 or so megabytes I need to partetion the rest into more drives but don't know how!! (My computer is a 386 with a IDE interface).

any help is needed!

no making fun for my compter!!

I tried that but it says that I am using 100% of my harddrive.

you will need a sector translation program. usually can find one at the web site of the hd maker for free download.

What version of DOS are you using? I know that DOS 3.3 and earlier have a 500 MB limitation. I'm not sure about DOS 4.0, but I know DOS 5 and above allow up to 2 Gig partitions.

Let me help out. This program should help you to fix the problems. Backup your important data first. This program will create a bootable floppy. If this file is corrupted go to the western digital or maxtor website and download E-Z drive or Disk manager and it should either help you to see all of you hard drive or partition it to where you can utilize all of your har drive. If you get stumped western digital or maxtor websites have detailed instructions.
