I have just sold my old pc and bought a new one. I bought it blank no O/S. I purchased Win 98 and installed it to the 8.4gb IBM IDE drive. Now opon every reboot or shutdown scandisk runs as if windows was not shutdown and wants to check for bad sectors and do a full surface test which will take 1hr 50mins!. Why, it's not being loaded in the AUTOEXEC.BAT. Can any one help?
