I'm shopping for new speakers, and was wondering if people have been able to directly compare these speakers?

If you have, please let me know. Thanks

PCworks couldn't handle high bass. Go for the altec. Even better, get an ACS48.

The only problem there is that I will only have about $130 to spend on a set of speakers, and the ACS-48's are $200 where I am, and the ACS-45.1's are $125

The pcworks speakers are about $100 where I am. If there is not alot of difference in the quality of the sound, I may just go with the pcworks (there is also a $28 mail in rebate from creative labs, so this set would only cost me less than $80 after tax and rebate).

Well, I bit the bullet and bought a set of Altec Lansing acs-45.1 speakers. They are AWESOME compared to my old speakers, and they kick pc-works's *** in the bass department.

I ran quake II, and was very happy with the deep resonating bass of the subwoofer in this game. The acs-45.1 revisions have a wood enclosure for the sub, and this makes quite a difference at the bass response.

The pcworks speakers are good, but not as good as my new altec lansing's.

Im very happy now!! http://www.hardwarecentral.com/discussion/biggrin.gif
