Hello Again Folks, My Girlfriend is going to get herself a new Laptop, and wanted me to check things out for her, So i wanted to get your input. I was thinking of a Toshiba I have owned a few and they always seemed pretty good to me. SHe wants to use this thing in place of a desktop, so word processing, MP3 ripping, surfing/downloading. Price range anywhere from $800 to $1000. I would like it to have a NIC and USB. and maybe DVD built in if it's not to expensive. Thanks in advance
James

IBMs have pretty reliable models as well.

IBM have great laptops, their support is excellent while you are under warranty. I've had my laptop from IBM for 4 years and 1 problem

We had DELLs where I used to work, and they were quite good. They gave me a Dell Inspiron PIII, and I was quite happy with it...

Can't Buy any Dell ones. Since they have to be bought on credit, and the credit Card doesn't have a high enough line of credit.
