Laptop HDD Upgrade ?

I am looking to upgrade a 5Gb HDD fitted on a Compaq Presario Model 12XL513, to possibly a 20Gb HDD. I've been informed that I can't do this. Does anyone know if this can be done on this model ? Please help a desparate inexperienced PC adict. Thanks in advance.

Check with Compaq or their website (http://www.compaq.com/support/files) under Rompaq/Softpaq update notices to see if HDD size in question is supported.
