Hi, I installed the new Solaris 7 OS (for intel Platform) and for reasons it doesn't recognize my modem (WinModem 56k). I heard that this kind of modem is not recognized by Solaris and other Linux OS!!. Is there anyway to get it to work? Thanks

Set the jumpers on the modem for non-plug and play. Should do it...

Kind regards> Kash

You will not be able to get the Winmodem to work. Winmodems replace the usual BIOS on the modem with a software component that is specifically designed for use with Windows.

So, unless the manufacturer of your card decides to write a Solaris driver for your modem, I'm afraid you're out of luck...

Sorry to be the bringer of sad tidings...
