This (http://www.webuildpcs.com/cgi-bin/wbpcstore/scan/fi=products/st=db/co=yes/sf=category/se=Programs%20::%20Utilities/va=link_image%3d/va=link_banner%3d.html) site has Norton System Works 2001 for sale at about $20 with shipping. Best Buy and Walmart have the same software for $49.
Both claim to have licenses. What is the deal? Should I buy from the website?

You have to wonder but if you pay with credit card you can always cancel if you don't get item within 5 days, don't wait any longer though.

Read the site carefully (follow the link to SystemWorks 2001):
This offer Valid Only With Additional hardware Purchase only! - OEM Version.
If you're buying other hardware from that site then by all means pick up a cheap copy of Nortons while you're at it. Otherwise you're up for the full price.

I checked out the caveat and lo and behold!! I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt though. I put in my credit card and I have a receipt.
Total cost was $25.20.
I'll take Rangeral's advice on the five day issue though.
I hope this is as good as the boxed version. All I want it for is Ghost 2001 and Antivirus 2001. You don't have to load the other obtrusive items do you?

I doubt you'll have to install junk. While my experience with Symantec software is limited to the Enterprise editions of AntiVirus 7.5 and Ghost 6.5, their setup programs seem to be fairly flexible about letting you install just what you want. In fact with Ghost I never ran setup at all, everything I needed was also available to copy straight off the disk.

Enterprise? Is that for 2000 Server. I would love to put Antivirus Software on My Win2k Server, but Mcafee and Inoculateit won't work.
Do you think Norton will?

The Enterprise (or Corporate in NAV's case) versions are designed for large networks - you get remote management servers etc with them, along with every version of the client on the CD, then you just buy as many client licenses as needed. I'm not sure if NAV Corporate 7.5 installs on Win2K Server or not since we have Novell servers, but I expect it would. It works on 2K Professional though.
For the retail version you're getting, Symantec's site just says "Yes" to compatibility with "Windows 2000", so you might just have to try it and see.
