Download here:

Seems to be faster overall and has Opera style tabs to open many windows in one browser window. I havnt had any bugs/crashes with it yet.

Bsr,
Of course you can have that opinion, but don't forget that IE6's integration is a mega security hole. One bad script and you can lose some settings/files. NS is a little better at keeping the internet and your computer apart, so it's not totally useless.
I'm surprised that NS7 is coming out. I thought that NS was giving up on browser making thanks to AOL's buyout. Guess I'm wrong! http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/tongue.gif

Read this carefully, you IE freaks. Especially the part about AOL!

Thats what I like about netscape no tie-in to windows if it crashes no problem no vulnerabilities, 4.78 that is, don't even have to run an av.

Download all the patches you want, there are too many anti-M$ s.o.b's who target IE and OE, so there will always be more hacks. Besides, some of the "Patches" from windows update seem to make things worse (icon cache problems, etc). I have heard quite a few people say that they don't trust windows update to help.
I use IE6 btw. I'm on 56k and I don't visit sites I don't trust, but I was just explaining why people like and use NS.

D/l 7 this evening and so far I'm impressed, pages do load fast with the features of the old N and some of IE's features. I like the tab windows within N's main window rather than opening separate windows. Now if I can figure out how to add 7 to webwasher to get rid of the usual ads think I'd use it more since washer works well with old N.
Seems quite stable so far, using it for several hours.

But i'd still never use netscape,, If I were to use another browser it would be new versin of Opera... Ive used Opera before and was impressed, but ill still stick with IE...
I've used netscape, too many incompatiblility's . and it crashed on me 2 or 3 times. And appeared too be alittle slower (took 1 or 2 sec just to connect to site)

What version of netscape did you use? Crashing is not as often once you get a handle on it.

Personally, I use NS v6.2.3 for e-mail and IE for browsing. I consider it very important that IE does not know what my e-mail address is. I used to receive lots of spam from just visiting sites that grab my address and stash it away. Since I started doing what I described I get far less spam.
For a firewall and ad blocking I have been using Outpost from www.agnitum.com. (http://www.agnitum.com.) It is free and works with NS and IE.
I am not sure if I will get the v7 PR or wait for the full release. I probably will if I get bored this weekend.

I still prefer Netscape as my for my E-mail and IE or Opera for browsing.
IE has receives a lot of bashing lately due to the security holes. So that means Netscape and Opera are pretty good browsers http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/wink.gif

As nice as it is to talk about downloading all the IE patches, that's assuming that MS lives up to their end of the bargain. They don't. (http://jscript.dk/unpatched/) Netscape and Opera seem to attract a lot less advisories, and they all seem to eventually get fixed.
