WIN XP kills keyboard

system starts up fine and keyboard works until the welcome screen, then goes dead. If i unhook my usb mouse, then restart, the ps2 keyboard works. then i just plug my mouse back in and OK.

but i dont want to plug and play all day...

new via 4in1s
new directx
new video drivers
sp1
tried different kb

Suggest that you post the brand and full model of the mobo/system in question.
Perhaps another member here has the same component.

Mobo- Chaintech 7AJA2-E KT133 Via mobo.
Windows XP build 2600 plus all updates.
Amd Duron 1.0ghz @ o/c 1.1ghz.
512mb Kingston valueram.
Memorex 2700 internet keyboard ps/2
or
Emachines Windows Keyboard ps/2
both good.



I find through ms that there is an issue between Windows XP and some mobos reguarding conflicts between ps/2 ports and the usb ports., i have tired all the solutuions only to still be forced to playandplug somemore.

But i have now bought a logitech internet kb that i like much better and its usb so no more problems!
