Talking Sure fire way to drop temps without cost

Move your PC into your basement. I dropped 4 degrees across the board, video card idled at 31+ now it's 27C. My CPU and mobo are 32C & 27C vs. 38C & 32C.

Cool setup aye?

To light my keyboard at night when the lights are off.

I also removed the Thermaltake SMART CASE2 fan (75 cfm) cause it's just way too loud (even for me). Especially since I'm not o/c my card anymore, there's no point. In the end it was a 1 degree sacrifice at idle, but it's so much more quiet.

Lightbulb Alternatives

I considered moving to the basement (about 65F) last summer, but figured the spiders might clog up the works. (SK7 HS @$25 might negate such a move, excepting personal comfort).

-Remove the I/O plate from around the MB ports, and let heat escape naturally,

-Remove covers from any unused PCI slots.

That's a really nice desk you have there. I wish I could find something like that for myself here.
