ATI Radeon 9600XT vs 9600Pro

I am planning on buying a new graphics card in the very near future.

I have it narrowed down to the radeon 9600xt and the 9600pro. The pro version has 256 megs of memory and the xt has 128, although the xt costs $10 more.

I am looking for performance on games mostly, any input?

The XT would definitely be the one to go for, as there aren't yet any games which would benefit from the extra 128mb of memory on the Pro card. The XT has higher core and memory speeds than the Pro version which more than offset the difference in RAM.

a mate of mine was able to run Doom III beta on a MX440 so the 9600XT (which is a great card) would be fine, might not be great at full detail! but it would run it not too bad

but as for 9600PRO V 9600XT definately the XT, quite a bit faster and 256MB memory really isnt worth it as most games still only recomend 64MB

Kinda late to point this out, but the 9600pro and 9600XT have the same memory clocks (300mhz/600DDR). The XT has a core speed of 500mhz, while the 9600pro is 400mhz. My 9600pro hits 495mhz before it gives up. So close!

Sapphire - http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-338&depa=0
ATI - http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-331&depa=0

Maybe it's printed somewhere that I just don't see, but is there any difference between these aside from the price?

Sapphire, cheaper one, is OEM which usually means you will get cables, drivers CD and not much more

BBA is retail and usually comes with stuff like games and coupon for HL2 for example

I would go for cheaper, Sapphire one, since its supposed to be just as good in built quality as BBA

BTW contact them if you wanna know what exactly is contained in each of the packages

I'm more concerned with performance than bundled stuff. So that makes the sapphire better then? I'm talking like equal performance.
