HP Pavillion proprietary bios?

i recently bought an hp pavillion d4100e and im having a hard time believing there is no way to change my memory timing.

my bios name is as follows:

Phoenix Technologies, LTD
Version: 3.10
Date: 10/14/2005

CPU-Z says this about my mainboard:

Socket 939 AMD Athlon X2 3800+ dual core
Manufacturer: ASUSTek Computer INC.
Model: Amberine 1.03
Chipset ATI Radeon RS480 Rev. 10
Southbridge: ATI SB400

i know HP usually "dumbs down" their bios but there has to be a way to flash this proprietary stuff and replace it with some decent bios.

You can use something like A64Tweaker to tweak the memory timings from Windows. I believe there is a way to make the changes apply when you log on. But other than Windows utils, I doubt there is a way to change the timings in the BIOS. OEMs like HP do this on purpose.

As already pointed out by wrathchild_67,
No reasonable method(s) to override memory settings for the HPs.

There is a program out there called "A64 Tweaker" which might help you. It runs in windows, so no bios editing needed. I've never used it, so I can't tell you how well it works. A google/yahoo search should help you find it for download.
