Sata Hdd power cable. Which one?

There's 2 options for the power for the sata hard drive.

classical Molex power connector

Or

special SATA power cable

Anyone better than other?

You might as well use the SATA power connector and leave the molexes free for other devices.

Hmm i don't know because the wire has to be connect also on the molexe.
(power cable) One side to the hdd (sata) and the other on the molexe so either way i still lose one.

Example below

Then your PSU doesn't have dedicated SATA power ports. Most newer PSUs already have SATA power ports. That makes your original question moot.

ok but is there any benefit for having Sata plug instead of molex? Like flash said there's no difference between the 2 but why having new psu with sata then? Just curious. More speed with sata plug?

there is no performance difference. if you wanted to use other features like hotswapping, then it must be with the dedicated SATA power. using an molex to SATA adapter doesn't count either.

again, it doesn't matter on your setup since you don't have true SATA power connectors from your power supply.
