Viewing different workgroups

A friend from work came over with his laptop, but was unable to see any of the shares in my workgroup (home). He was in workgroup, and could only see that. From my computer, I could see both workgroups, and could see into his computer with no problem. What must I do for his laptop to see multiple workgroups? We are both running XP pro. Thanks

did u try connecting directing with the ip address:
Can he ping your ip address: ipconfig/all \\x.x.x.x\share name
does the share have all the permission set for everyone?
did u try sharing from the root dir, ex: \\x.x.x.x\C$
or whatever the volume name of the drive is.
Sometimes I run into this problem. I can share the drive but not a folder.
